Music written in Chicago in 2008...Lyrics written on Ocean Beach in SF in early 2009 as the sun went down on a bad day. It was really too cold and windy to be playing on the beach, but I stubbornly did it anyway.
lyrics
NEVER SAY GOODBYE
Sundown on me/I've run out of light and heat/I've tried/I've failed/In everything I've ever tried to sell/And I need something tonight/A little reminder of just why/I try at all/I keep on building things that fall/I guess I know/I've still got miles left to go/And I'll need something tonight/A little reminder of just why/I keep on coming back/Despite all the things that make me cry/The things that make me want to die/I hope I never say goodbye/'Cause I'm waiting for some silence in my mind/The night/It comes/A thousand little nightmares begun/I toss/I turn/And wonder if my bridges have burned/The ones that lead me back to life/The ones that remind me of just why/I'll keep on coming back/Despite all the things that make me cry/The things that make me want to die/I hope I'll never say goodbye/I hope we never say goodbye/I hope I never say goodbye.
